Before
A field-service company. Jobs on a whiteboard. Techs in a group chat. The person who knew the board took Friday off and the afternoon became a scavenger hunt.
What was hard
The work is not a calendar. It is a tech, a van, a part, a window the customer will actually be home, and a job that ran long. Routing software that ignores the last one sends people to empty houses.
What we built
Dispatch: jobs, techs, parts, windows. A mobile view that does not assume signal. When a job runs long, the rest of the day moves. Customers get a window that is true at 8am, not the one we hoped for on Monday.
After
The board is gone. The group chat is for the weird ones. Dispatch can see the day. Techs can see theirs.
